Chief Executive Officer
Built on the foundations of lifelong learning, STiR Education is an international NGO which engages across the educational ecosystem to reignite intrinsic motivation in teachers and officials. With the core goal of positively impacting education systems, STiR partners with governments and funders across different geographies in order to ensure long-term learning sustainability and success. A cross-cultural organisation with teams around the world, they have impacted the lives of over 6 million children and engaged over 200,000 teachers in their innovative network practices since their foundation in 2012. Eight years on, STiR is now looking to deliver on its ambitious new 2025 strategy, including expanding its international reach into new countries and significantly increasing the scale of its participants.
STiR is seeking to appoint a new CEO, to succeed current Founder & CEO, Sharath Jeevan. As the organisation reaches a new stage of complexity and maturity, both he and the Board feel it is excellent timing for a new CEO to take on the leadership of STiR’s exciting future development. Driven by the values of humility, openness, ownership and purpose, STiR seeks a new leader who will embody those qualities alongside operational and strategic experience. The new CEO will be a critical leader both internally and externally, who will have a proven track record in driving innovation, building partnerships and developing new opportunities. Accountable to the STIR Board, the successful candidate will manage a diverse international team and will lead the organisation towards the further achievement of its global vision.
The new Chief Executive will bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to engage with a range of external stakeholders, including international government authorities, funding donors and the public. They will have had exposure to and proven success in working in complex international environments. Most importantly, they will demonstrate a passion for STiR’s defining mission and values, and will be ambitious and committed to driving that vision forward.
