Experience is desirable, but not essential as we’ll teach you everything that you need to know.

The Apprenticeship is geared toward training the next generation of Light Commercial Vehicle Service Technicians. But what does the role involve?

The role varies slightly by the employer, based upon the specific needs within the location. The below explanation is therefore a guide to support you in understanding what the role might entail.

Technicians service and repair light vehicles (eg. Vans) up to 3.5 tonnes. Technicians are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features. The duties may include:

  • Servicing - carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers’ guidelines
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
  • Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs
  • Maintaining repair and service records
  • Vehicle diagnostics

A typical working week could be 40 hours Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm, however, each of our Dealers will have different requirements.

All learners will be required to work the minimum apprenticeship duration of 30 hours per week. At least 20% of your working hours will be allocated to 'off-the-job' training. We'll support you to understand the working hours during the recruitment process.

Our Apprenticeship Programme is an excellent way of ensuring we have high-quality people working with our brand today and in the future. We're looking for ambitious candidates ready to take ownership of their development, work hard to achieve their potential, and grow with an ambitious employer.

The Programme lasts for at least 24 months and you'll achieve a nationally recognised qualification as well as essential hands-on work experience.

We will support you to gain your Functional Skills if you require them in Maths and English.

All of our Apprentices are employed with our dealer network or one of our programme partners, and attend week-long block training at our state of the art Training Centre in Coventry.

Block training is complemented by a combination of regular coaching visits from one of our experienced Coaches as well as Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules.

All of our opportunities receive a really good response and so we're looking for you to demonstrate why you stand out from the crowd. We're not looking for the finished article; rather we want to identify those people that are ambitious and demonstrate a willingness to learn, who are excited by the prospect of working with our fantastic, technologically advanced vehicles, and really engage in the recruitment process.

We are committed to supporting the development of every Apprentice’s technical, employability, and broader personal development skills, to ensure they can progress and develop their career.
