We are looking for a Doctor with enthusiasm and energy to join our committed team.

Fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. Requirement is 7 sessions per week.

We appreciate it’s a challenging time for Primary Care but we are committed to excellent patient care built on great teamwork and maintaining a meaningful work/life balance. We are based in the Scottish Borders, with the seaside only 20 minutes away and an easy commute to the Cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle. The area boasts good schools and is a great part of the country to raise a family. House prices are affordable.

At present we have 4 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 2 ANPs, 1 Practice Nurse and 1 Healthcare Assistant. We have 6600 patients with a list size that is increasing.

Is a paperlite practice and currently use EMIS & Docman. We have an excellent team of Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Admin/Reception staff, all helping to give us excellent local Patient Survey results. High staff satisfaction scores. We will encourage your development in your area of interest. 7 Weeks annual leave and 1 weeks study leave. No OOH commitment. MDU medical defence paid. Locum Insurance paid. Shared daytime on-call, home visits and extended hours. In house Pharmacotherapy team, MSK Advanced Physiotherapy practitioner and Lifestyle Advisor support. Enhanced Services Providers

Salary is negotiable and dependant on successful individual, sessions worked etc.

Employer details: NHS Borders is the NHS service provider for the Scottish Borders. We provide acute and primary care services from the Borders General Hospital, 4 community hospitals and a network of mental health and learning disability inpatient, community and day facilities.

The Borders General Hospital provides a full range of services across the specialties, including inpatient and daycase surgery, outpatient services, Accident & Emergency, maternity and paediatrics as well as therapy, laboratory and pharmacy facilities.

The Community Hospitals provide inpatient GP beds, outpatient and rehabilitation and therapy clinics.

Our Primary & Community Services Board co-ordinates primary health care services provided by 24 GP practice and a network of dentists, pharmacists and ophthalmic opticians across the region.

NHS Borders also has responsibility for health protection and health promotion for the population of the Borders.

The Scottish Borders has a population of about 110,000 and NHS Borders employs approximately 3,200 staff.
