Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for your next career challenge? Or a current Social Care Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity? Then we have just the role for you! Our Mental Health Social Care Team in Harrogate North are looking for a Team Manager to join us on a full time basis.
Your role will be to support the team consisting of Approved Mental Health Professionals, Mental Health Social Workers and Support Time Recovery workers to deliver a high quality service to people in the community and hospital, with the focus on working together with people to enhance their independence and quality of life. You will be a qualified Social Worker and will be expected to undertake safeguarding enquiries as a safeguarding co-ordinator; training is available to support you with this. The work can be complex and challenging and you will be supported to manage this with regular supervision, training, and opportunities to consult where necessary with senior colleagues.
Supported by the Service Manager you will be located within our mental health social care team, working across NYCC and NHS bases to deliver a seamless service alongside the NHS Ripon Integrated Community Team. The NYCC and NHS teams work collaboratively to support people with mental health difficulties and their carers. You will lead your team as they undertake MHA assessments across the locality, Care Act Assessments, discharge planning, complex decision making under the Mental Capacity Act, risk assessments and recovery work. It will give you an excellent opportunity to flourish in a challenging yet stimulating work environment, demonstrating your expertise and ability to work in line with legislation, policies and guidelines.
To join us you will have a good knowledge of the Mental Health Act, as well as other legislation relevant to this role. Support will be given to ensure that your skills in this are up to date if this is a new role for you. You will preferably have previous management experience and have proven ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team and work in multi-disciplinary environments with our colleagues in the NHS. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and will need to understand and demonstrate the importance of working collaboratively with other organisations.
