The University of Warwick is seeking applications for a Senior Teaching Fellow to be part of a growing team of expert academics on its unique and innovative BASc in Global Sustainable Development degrees. Our team of academics are active researchers and experienced teachers with a shared mission to educate a new generation of students who believe in solutions-focused thinking.
For this particular role we are looking for a colleague with expertise in Global Sustainable Development and with a Business and/or Economics background. Specific expertise in any of the following areas would be an asset: Energy Sector, Green Growth, Innovation, Social Enterprise. We welcome applications from individuals who can design and deliver modules that engage our diverse student population thus, a good knowledge of pedagogy around Education for Sustainability would be an asset. We particularly encourage applications from academics whose expertise relates to geographical areas which are currently under-represented in our curriculum. The successful candidate will be responsible for convening and delivering an existing optional core/core module, as well as teaching on the first year module "Economic Principles of Global Sustainable Development". They will also be expected to design additional modules that reflect their own expertise and intellectual interests.
As a Senior Teaching Fellow you will use your knowledge of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies to develop high quality teaching materials which you will deliver on modules of the course. You will be experienced in delivering interdisciplinary teaching, with a specific emphasis on the field of Global Sustainable Development. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed colleague who is passionate about making every aspect of our students' experience of learning relevant and valuable. We welcome applications from academic colleagues whose work cuts across the three pillars of Sustainable Development (Economic, Social, Environmental) and who engage with the importance of Good Governance as a necessary fourth pillar. We particularly welcome applications from individuals who have been historically under-represented in academia.
The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher and communicator with a sound subject knowledge, able to stimulate and enthuse students from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and with a desire to contribute to the development of Sustainable Development Education both at Warwick and beyond.
