We are seeking a Deputy Care Home Manager with a friendly and empathetic approach, to join an exciting team in a care home in Blackpool. To support the Registered Manager to manage all aspects in the day-to-day running of the Home. Promoting a caring environment which provides residents with a high standard of specialised personal care, meeting individual needs and ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity and rights to privacy, independence and choice are met. To supervise, monitor and evaluate the care delivered to residents, checking legal requirements are met along with the high levels expected within the Home.
RequiredMinimum of 5 years’ experience working in a caring environment (preferably within care of older people)Minimum of 2 years supervisory management experienceNVQ 4 in Care or a Nursing Qualification or working towards QCF Level 5 Knowledge of the principles in sales and marketing of a Nursing HomeSkilled in the recruitment, selection and retention of staffCommitted to a structured approach to training and development of staffUnderstanding of the Health & Social Care Act and Health & Safety legislationExcellent interpersonal skillsProfessional, confident and warm personalityHave a caring dispositionLeadership qualities, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivational skills.Reliable and punctualWilling and able to provide an out of hours ‘on call’ service
Main ResponsibilitiesThis is a managerial role, supervising and monitoring the team within the home therefore leadership qualities, effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential. These skills are also needed for developing good relationships with outside agencies, suppliers and professionals, along with regular liaison with residents, relatives, prospective employees and residents. As a Registered Nurse the post holder will comply with standards of professional practice/conduct and maintain valid registration with the NMC in order to practice. It is the post holder’s responsibility to ensure they are both familiar and adhere to these requirements.The Deputy Manager will be part of the Home’s Senior Management Team with a lead responsibility for management, support and direction of care services. They will be expected to be part of the Registered Nurse rota for the home and work a number of nursing shifts per week as required.The Deputy Manager will support the Home Manager to develop the Registered Nurse team to obtain and sustain the necessary clinical skills and underpinning knowledge to manage the needs of residents.The Deputy Manager will ensure a high standard of care service is provided for residents and will take charge of the Home in the absence of the Manager.
