AWE is currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join the Warhead Processing and Surveillance (WP&S) team. The team predominantly support Production and Assembly Technology Centre operations.

Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

As a member of the WP&S team, you will be required to:

  • Contribute to the production and delivery of high-quality technical documentation, including validation and verification plans and method statements
  • Support the Senior Engineers and Task Management in scoping, planning, and estimating future activities.
  • Attend reviews such as tooling design and defect review panels.
  • Actively seek to fill gaps in knowledge regarding our product.
  • Identify and support opportunities for cost savings, efficiency and business improvement.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer facing skills with both internal and external stakeholders, eliciting needs and translating them into engineering requirements.
  • Support development and delivery of viable technical solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Organise personal training and development under the guidance of a professional mentor.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and effectively balance / prioritise their work around programme and technical requirements.

Essential:

  • A working knowledge of mechanical systems and how they interface.
  • Ability to work efficiently as a self-directed individual or part of a team.
  • Competence in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • HNC / HND or higher qualification, or equivalent, in a STEM discipline or proven experience working in a similar environment.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation.
  • Proven track record of delivery and systems thinking approach.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
