Quality Manager

Pembrook Resourcing are currently seeking on behalf of their client a quality manager, this is an exciting opportunity with a well renowned company in the area.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the company’s Quality and Environmental management systems, ensuring compliance to ISO 9001 & 14001. Ensuring that product quality and service is continually improving, and exceeding all expectations, striving towards zero defects with first time right process adherence.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

-Understanding customer requirements, and ensuring they are exceeded by the plant.

-Responsible for Quality and Environmental systems and procedures.

-Developing robust quality control processes, working with R&D and engineering to ensure NPI delivers a ‘bomb-proof’ process.

-Devising and reviewing specifications for raw materials and finished goods.

-Setting and managing requirements for suppliers

-Introduce real improvements to the efficiency of the Quality Department

-Auditing internal and external products and processes, helping teams to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventative action

-Prompt and efficient reporting of KPI’s internally and externally.

-Reviewing customer scorecards and portals, and resolving customer complaints and issues

PERSON SPECIFICATION

-A track record of success as a Quality Manager within a Tier 1 environment to automotive or OEM

-Must have working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

-Demonstrable track record of using quality and problem solving tools.

-Strong leadership and teamwork skills, a good communicator and willingness to travel

-Attention to detail and an analytical mind

-Experienced in conducting investigation into product field failures.

-Knowledge of IAFT16949 and automotive quality procedures would be an advantage.

-Fluent in process controls tools and training techniques (5s. 8 wastes, 8D, APQP, PAPP etc.)

-IT Literate, with strong presentation skills.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

-Qualified to HNC / Degree level in science or engineering and/or qualified in Quality and Manufacturing Management.

-ILM Level 4/5 or NVQ Diploma in Management would be an advantage.

-Six Sigma qualifications (Desirable)
