Facilities, Estates & Buildings Maintenance Supervisor who has a multi-trade background (painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical etc.) with good team supervisory and IT skills is required for a well-established School in Dorton, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

SALARY: Competitive

The School is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 280 children aged 3 - 13+ set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty-acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside just twenty minutes from Oxford, Thame and Aylesbury.

The School has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small caring family community where children both know each other and all of the staff.


Your duties and responsibilities as the Facilities, Estates & Buildings Maintenance Supervisor:

  • Oversee the maintenance email system, prioritising, scheduling and delegating jobs to the team
  • Liaise with the Facilities and Estates Manger on upcoming events and activities which require action from the Maintenance Team
  • Liaise with Grounds Team and third party contractors when required
  • Assist with swimming pool maintenance
  • Assist with general Health and Safety monitoring and control
  • Maintain good site security such as unlocking and locking of the School
  • Carry out minor repairs to doors, locks and other equipment
  • Carry out minor plumbing and electrical repairs, including replacing lamps and fluorescent tubes
  • Painting and decorating as required
  • Ordering materials required for repairs, maintenance and cleaning
  • General care taking


As the Facilities, Estates & Buildings Maintenance Supervisor you will have the following attributes, skills and experience:

  • Trade background with excellent general handyperson skills
  • Previous experience supervising a team
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • High level of numeracy, accuracy and an eye for detail
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Full driving licence
