Recruiting a Head Chef to join a charming high end country Pub located near Chard in Somerset. You will have a real passion for fresh food and be a hands on Head Chef motiviating and managing your team to drive the business forward as well as create menus all using fresh and seasonal produce. This establishment is dynamic, high volume and fast paced whilst also offering high quality locally-sourced food and first class service.

Accommodation is being developed in the Autumn for 4 letting rooms and awards and accolades are in the future,as well as having an abundance of own home reared/grown produce!

It's a small team so working within a tight knit team is essential alongside working with the owners.

Key Responsibilities for the Chef will include:

Be an excellent and inspiring role model within the team and provide them with support and development
Be creative with seasonal produce from kitchen garden
Become enthused by countryside offering and home reared meat
Liaise with the relevant companies for food orders
Create new dishes and develop innovative menus
Interview and hire new staff
Maintain/raise the food's profit margins for your employer
Monitor and control stock levels
Ensure correct stock rotation procedures are followed
Implement health and safety procedures in the kitchen
Estimate costs and ensure all purchases come within budget
Take care of the kitchen's accounts and create and manage kitchen rotas

Key Requirements for the Chef:

Build passion and enthusiasm for creating fantastic locally-sourced, seasonal food
Develop brilliant teamworking and supervisory skills
Use your excellent organisation skills
Ideally gain NVQ Level 2 and a Food Hygiene Certificate
