A new opportunity for an Accounts Senior to work in the Accounts and Outsourcing team for a well-respected firm in Surrey. The team deals with the year-end compliance work for this non-audit client and the day to day accounting needs of their own clients.
Accounts Senior - About the Role
My client is a well-established and reputable Accountancy Practice based in Surrey. You will provide support to the Partner and Accounts Managers for the supervision and development of more junior members of the team and the development of the Accounts and Outsourcing Department.
As the Accounts Senior you will:
Lead the more complex accounts assignments of the firm’s larger non-audit clientsLiaise with relevant managers and clients to plan assignmentsDiscuss specific development objectives with traineesPlan the approach to the assignment, including preparing the budget and timetableCarry out work at clients’ premises and in the office and coaching other team members as necessaryEnsure that relevant work is carried out to support the accountants’/assurance report.Finalise files for Managers and Partners to review, ensuring all client queries have been satisfactorily answeredAble to identify and research complex technical issues. Presentation of clear and concise working papers to explain technical issues and solutions / requirements for the assignment. Be up to date on all developments in the accounting forum and aware of the impacts on our clientsAble to make recommendations to clients to improve their accounting systemsClear review points and prepare letters and bills for clients
The successful Accounts Senior will have:
Qualified ACA/ACCA Strong experience working in Public Practice – minimum 2 years Significant, recent accounts experience gained in Public Practice although some industry exposure would also be a great benefitStrong technical skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.A team player Commercially astute and committed to developing the businessFlexible and proactive approach. Be familiar with all key accounting software packages: Iris, CCH, Sage and Xero.
