Job Description:

Our IT mission is to transform the way technology is delivered to customers and colleagues across the world with the emphasis on simplicity, mobility, and efficiency. Data and Analytics will be central to enabling our colleagues to focus more on our customers and increasing revenue by providing innovative and deeper insights into our customers, as well as the ability to use these insights to personalise the customer journey across channels.

This is a great opportunity to work as a Senior Data Architect in a dynamic data and analytics team responsible for determining the global Sage Data strategy and driving adoption of, and insight into, Sage's centralised data assets including big data sets such as Product telemetry, customer sentiment and click-data and uniting this with master customer and product data. This role will expose the Senior Data Architect to leading edge technologies and infrastructure with the opportunity to establish skills in big data, data science and new analytical methodologies.

This role will expose the Senior Data Architect to leading edge technologies and infrastructure with the opportunity to establish skills in big data, data science and new analytical methodologies.

The Senior Data Architect will:

• Be part of a team designing strategic data and integration platforms and interfaces to support the delivery of strategic data services across Global Products, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Customer Business Centres, HR and IT leadership amongst others.

• Deliver solutions to liberate data from across the data ecosystem including internal data as well as social data and product telemetry, surface it in the right place and at the right time to personalise and optimise both our colleagues and customers' experience with Sage.

• Deliver standard approaches to data build and data management across Sage, with a 'do it once' approach to reach our goal of a secure and managed single-version of the truth; ensuring data integrity and simplicity by mastering and modelling data centrally and rationalising data integrations between systems and consumers of data.

• Provide the tools and skills to enable our colleagues to perform deep-dive analytics into the data and surface previously unseen insights about our business and our customers' interactions with us.

• Able to calculate and demonstrate the costs, benefits, TCO and ROI over the lifetime of a solution, and challenge the same for other solutions.

• Capable of creating innovative new architectural solutions and taking the technical lead across multiple teams to implement.

• Identify new and emerging technologies, methods, trends and techniques. Asses and communicates their relevance and potential value as business enablers. Recognises and exploits opportunities provided by technology to enable and improve the business for a given project or domain.

Key Responsibilities:

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: (8 or 10 max)

• Understand business requirements and strategy and translate into data and BI solutions and deliverables

• Design data solutions aligned to our end goal of a single, central data platform where both integrity and security can be guaranteed

• Drive rationalisation and consolidation of data platforms according to the strategy and enforce simplification and standardisation of integrations

• Define and govern policies and principles for data development and management, and review code and support practices in line with these

• Be an evangelist for data and BI within Sage and ensure colleagues understand our data and its value to Sage

Skills, know-how and experience:

Must have:

• Experience of designing global data architectures across a large, diverse enterprise

• Team player with commercial awareness and cognizance of changing internal and external IT landscapes

• Strong business acumen, with experience of managing stakeholders and influencing strategy by partnering and educating

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and present complex information concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Analytical and critical thinking skills prepared to challenge conventional thinking.

• Ability to drive change in organizations and rally others behind an agenda.
