Role Purpose

Becketts Foods are a family owned business with a passion to deliver bacon at its best, this business and the Group are evolving constantly, with the planned expansion at Oak House we are keen to secure candidates with the right Behaviours and Attitude to push forward with the changes required on Blue/Red shift (Earlies).

You will oversee the Team of Operatives working on the Line to ensure that the Production line runs at the required rate to achieve planned volume, that the feedstock is of suitable condition to achieve yield targets and of the required quality to meet customer specification.

Responsibilities:


Health & Safety:

  • Ensure the equipment in use and the surrounding floors do not constitute a danger either to yourself or others and that your method of work is safe. Ensure all methods of work are within the Health & Safety Guidelines and equipment are checked regularly.

Staff Allocation

  • Staffing Levels match Labour Plan
  • Skills Sets assigned to Correct Position

Line Set Up

  • Conduct Handover from Previous Team
  • Conduct Pre Start Checks and allocation of key resources

Yield Management

  • Assess Feedstock Conditioning
  • Manage Giveaway Control
  • Check Grading Process to Ensure Correct Weight Bands

Line Performance

  • Ensure all Equipment Running in Sequence and at Correct Rate
  • Highlight Performance Reducing Equipment Issues to Supervisor
  • Manage Staffing Capability / Training
  • Manage Staffing Break Order based on Position / Role

Paperwork and Checks

  • Filling Out Production Run Sheet
  • Performing / Overseeing CCP Checks
  • Equipment Checks

Report Figures

  • Enter Accurate Data into Slicing System
  • Report Downtime into Correct Category with Agreed Times

Team Interactions

  • Greet any New Starters, Introduce to Team and Provide Named Buddy Support
  • Speak to Team Daily on Line Performances
  • Gain Feedback from Each Team Member Daily on Workplace

Planning Ahead

  • Read and Understand Plan to Ensure Minimal Disruption during Changeover
  • Review Running Order and Advise Supervisor if Better Option

Communication:

  • Constant communications with Supervisor. Providing hourly updates to plan efficiency and yield controls.

Housekeeping:

  • Ensure production line and surrounding area are kept ergonomically friendly so to maintain production flow and efficiency.


The ideal candidate will have:

· Prior Supervisory Experience of a team in a manufacturing environment

· Has a good standard of spoken and written English (ESOL Level 1 is preferred as a benchmark)

· Food Safety Achievement (Level 1)

· Excellent Communication Skills able to liaise all levels

· Continuous Improvement Ideas and corrective actions

· Attention to Detail


In return, the successful candidate:

· Will receive a salary of up to £23,001 per annum, based on skills and experience

· Be entitled to 28 days holiday per annum, inclusive of bank holidays
