ABOUT: CIMONE is a new high-end Womenswear label, led by creative director Carli Pearson. Pearson was trained at Central Saint Martins, and prior to launching CIMONE, worked in a variety of senior positions at some of the world’s top RTW houses. She spent her first seven years at Stella McCartney, later moving on to become Design Director at Alexander Wang, Head of Show Collection at Pucci, and Head of Womenswear at McQ, Alexander McQueen.
CIMONE launched in AW16-17 with our first ready to wear collection and look book. Since then, we have presented two catwalk collections during London Fashion Week as part of the Fashion Scout platform. All are available to view on our website,www.cimone.co.uk CIMONE is based in London, where each garment is hand crafted and developed. Every item in the collection is nurtured throughout each stage of production, to the highest standards. POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are currently offering a part time Womenswear Work Placement working in-house to support the design and production team. The role will vary over the coming months, as we get ready for our presentation in September. This placement is suitable for candidates on a fashion design, or technical course, such as garment technology and/or pattern cutting. Candidates should be studying for a BA, MA or equivalent.
• Minimum 2/3 weeks commitment. • Be studying a practical course • Must be located in London or Greater London for the duration of the Work Placement.
• Be proficient and comfortable with Student level work. • Possess good practical skills. These include, but are not limited to; a basic – good understanding of pattern-cutting, construction, hand stitching and machining) • Be able to use an industrial sewing machine. • Have a highly dedicated can-do attitude. • Be able to work and conduct themselves in a professional manner. • Be willing to take on any task large or small. • Be able to demonstrate a professional demeanour in the studio at all times. • Have a great eye for detail, level of perfectionism, and organizational skills. • Be a quick learner and keen to support others within the team. • Work well with others. • Be able to multitask and work well under pressure. • Have an understanding and interest in modern production methods and materials.
This role includes but is not limited to:
• Assisting with pattern cutting • Creating artisan finishes • Trim and fabric sourcing • Machine sewing • May include - hand embroidery/ beading/ other hand sewing • Studio organisation • Helping organise Press samples for send out. • Help with cut outs and product uploads
What you will learn/we will teach you:
• Improved pattern making skills, working along side and assisting our patternmakers. • Development of maching skills, taking direction from our in house seamstresses and the Creative Director. • How to organise and catalogue samples methodically. • How a professional fitting is conducted and seeing how to communicate with pattern makers. • Viewing the collection from concept to outcome, being involved with presentation, and how to communicate ideas clearly to a team. • Developing details for potential use within the collection.

You will have the chance to work with, and learn from, our small, yet very professional, in-house team. Due to the size of our studio, interns will have a range of responsibilities. Varied daily tasks will ensure that you will get a unique, and rare chance to see all sides of the business and a valuable insight into what it takes to run a start up label.
