Amersham &

General Community – Varied Locations across High Wycombe

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time enthusiastic midwife to join the well-established community midwifery team based in the market town of Amersham. Amersham is within the Chiltern district in Buckinghamshire. We are also looking for midwives to join our well-established community midwifery teams based in High Wycombe

We are looking for a full time midwife who has successfully completed a preceptorship programme or have experience at band 6. Experience of community midwifery would be beneficial but not necessary as a full introduction to community midwifery will be provided by the trust and supported by the Community Matron, team leaders and the Practice development team.

At Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, we pride ourselves in the high standard of care that we deliver to our women and their families. Over 20% of our babies are born in midwife led settings in Buckinghamshire and our ambition is to increase this further by supporting women to birth in a setting of their preference and implementing continuity of carer models in line with Better Births recommendations.

Our midwives provide antenatal and postnatal care for their caseload. As one of our community midwives you will participate in an on- call rota providing 24 hour cover for our home birth service as well as supporting our stand alone and integrated birth centres.

As an integrated Trust we also work closely with the health visiting and the family nurse partnerships teams as well as multidisciplinary teams to provide personalised care, continuity, safe birth in line with Better Births recommendations.

You will undertake mentorship of students on a regular basis supported by our practice development team and Bedfordshire University Link lecturers.

All of our staff complete our well established and robust annual in-house training programme on an annual basis which is supportive of further career development.

Our maternity services provide care for approximately 4,800 women and their families each year. We offer a variety of birth choices for our diverse population and have dedicated care pathways supported by a team of specialist midwives.

An onsite subsidised childcare facility is available and parking is available on all Trust sites.
