What is the role?
The Finance Systems Accountant will lead the development, implementation, and administration of the organisations financial systems. The role is responsible for maximising efficiency and effectiveness across the finance function – improving both systems, integrations and finance processes.

This will be achieved through ongoing development of key financial systems as well as engaging users in process improvement and change across the board. Additionally, will drive the effectiveness of financial business information across the Group through reporting and surfacing of data.

What are we looking for?
To thrive in this role you will have previous experience of a finance system or ERP as a Systems Accountant or similar. You are able to work in a fast-paced environment, work to tight deadlines and have strong IT skills. We are looking for someone with a positive “can do” attitude and who is able to provide support and advice to others who need help finding solutions to their issues.

The competencies which are required include:

Essential Experience:
Proven experience in finance and accounting and an understanding of the creation of monthly accounts and financial statements.
Previous experience of a finance system or ERP as a Systems Accountant or similar.
Past experience with finance systems and projects.
Understanding of processes, procedures and roles within a medium
sized business finance department.

Desirable Experience:
Knowledge of finance systems, specifically Workday.
Prior experience in upkeep and development of finance systems.
Understanding of processes, procedures and roles within procurement, payroll, and HR departments.

Essential Qualifications (including certifications):
Professional qualification in finance – qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications (including certifications):
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

Essential Skills:
To be able to work to deadlines; which may be of an unpredictable or ad hoc nature.
To be responsive to a fast-paced and changing environment.
Excellent communication skills, good telephone manner, and analytical skills.
Good timekeeping and organizational skills.
“Can do” attitude towards problem solving.
Strong IT skills, including use of management information systems, advanced Excel and/or Word knowledge.
Ability to work within a team and offer support to other team members when available.
Ability to listen and offer solutions to problems or issues presented by others.
Commercial awareness.
