The role is to lead the mechanical services team 7 staff leading on: - capital mechanical works e.g. communal boiler replacement, heat meter installation, dry riser and boosted water sets - overseeing the work of our DLO and external contractors on servicing of M&E components, ensuring systems are maintained and serviced to the appropriate standards. - contributing to procurement work on new capital contracts for communal boiler works, and new servicing contracts for various mechanical systems. - contributing to service development work in the team, especially increasing the use of digital forms and certificates.

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;

Reporting to the Head of PAM, you will lead an experienced team of professional services covering all technical aspects of the contract process, managing the asset database to ensure that the 5 and 30 year plans can be produce for setting budgets, estimating all projects, developing and monitoring a team that are responsible for the correct management of the project in line with the operations manual
To be responsible for the contract team covering a geographical area comprising of a contract administer, project support administrator, project manager, client liaison officer, quantity surveyor, clerk of works and consultants to control and manage the Investment Programme works programme to ensure successful delivery of the programme by the consultants, contractors with programmes delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality
To lead and inspire the contract project teams to deliver all project/schemes with the construction team of consultants, contractors, internal and external stakeholders on time and ensuring that residents are aware of all the works within each geographically area
Lead on the procurement of Capital works contractors and consultants, including developing procurement strategies for changing services.
Lead stakeholder and relationship management and engagement associated with asset management, and related wider objectives, to support the delivery of the overall programme
Maintain contractual records, documentation, contract correspondence, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all projects

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills/attributes;

RIBA, RICS, CIOB, CEng etc. and/or proven experience in a comparable role
A qualified property and construction management professional with in depth knowledge of the construction industry to make a real difference in supporting all stakeholders
A minimum of 5 years’ experience of contracts management of large building refurbishment projects within the Local Authority or social housing sector.
An experienced contracts manager with a successful record of delivering large asset programmes, highly developed presentational, report writing and IT skills relevant to the delivery of complex investment works schemes

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering a daily rate of £300 p/day Umbrella Ltd Approx. £930 p/wk NET after deductions dependant on experience and qualifications.
