Our Capital Delivery business is fundamentally changing how we work within AMP7, we are bringing our Design Capability back in house to provide better value for money for our customers, enhancing our expert client capability and crucially, developing our people is essential as we build for the future. As part of this substantial growth, we are now recruiting consultant project managers located out of our Raynesway, Shelton and Finham offices. As a Consultant Project Manager within the Design team you will be part of a team working on a wide-ranging project portfolio across the Design function. You will be part of a team creating project plans from inception right through to close of the project, collaborating with multi- disciplinary teams on engineering infrastructure projects to ensue we are taking care of one of life’s essentials. You will be joining a team which is part of a 6-billion-pound programme over the next AMP, there has never been a better time to join us.

Let’s talk about the key accountabilities of the position

• Lead and manage consultants in capital design from cradle to grave of the design project life cycle (from business case approval to closure and review) ensuring all project deliverables are achieved within cost and to agreed quality standards • Scope and create the project plan in conjunction with consultants and input from Design teams • Perform the role of NEC Project Manager • Ensure Severn Trent Water carries out its duties as a client in accordance with CDM regulations for all projects in your portfolio • Manage internal/external stakeholders and customers • Adhere to the Capital Delivery project standards ensuring process maps are followed and that deliverables are appropriately allocated and completed prior to each gate stage • Prepare and submit Business Cases to STW governance boards for direction and approval.Prepare and submit gate papers to relevant governance bodies • Undertake financial management of projects to ensure accurate and robust financial forecasting and budgetary allocation. • Facilitate handovers from the design team to the D&B Contractor after problem identification stage, ensure all appropriate handover procedures are followed and that a post project review is undertaken • Identify and manage risks and opportunities (accurately and forecasting the impact) which could impact on the delivery of programmes • Ensure compliance with external legislation (CDM/ Environment/ Planning/ Access)

The skills and experience required to be successful include

• Application of complex risk management principals particularly in relation to customers and other key stakeholders • Experience of working to standards, codes and practices • Experience of working alongside teams of consultants to delivery project outcomes (both internal & external resources) • Experience of implementing CDM regulations in delivery of projects • Experience of working closely with supply chain in delivering projects (with emphasis on adherence to deliverables, milestones, H&S specification and quality) • Extensive experience of working within NEC project management frameworks • Experience delivering projects that are high risk, high complexity, and of high value • Drive safety improvement performance within the direct supply chain. To ensure the safety of employees, customers , public and those impacted by our operations is paramount • Ensure STW statutory obligations and outcomes are met for the programme of work being delivered • Respond to and address incidents as and when they occur and ensure the root cause is identified and actions taken to prevent re-occurrence • Driving efficiencies into Design/ Design processes and ensuring that any lessons learnt are communicated effectively to the STW Design team and other consultants

Qualifications

Essential: • APM accredited or holding equivalent project management qualification • NEC accredited • Full UK driving license Desirable: • Full Membership status (or close to) of an appropriate professional body (e.g. ICE, CIWEM, I Mech E) • Qualified in an Engineering, Construction and Project Management or Environmental discipline, degree preferable
