We are currently looking for Quantity Surveyor in Finham to work with our exciting Capital Delivery & Commercial business over a wide range of engineering projects, providing pre and post contract expertise. These are really exciting times here for the business as we have brought our design engineering capability back in house for AMP7 which has seen us go through a significant period of growth – this is your chance to be part of it! This is a perfect time to join us as we are transitioning to a new way of working and a great opportunity for you to contribute your thoughts and ideas into the development of our processes. You’ll be involved in project delivery from inception and design all the way through to completion and final account. You will support Project Managers in assessing and issuing contractual notifications, reviewing applications for payment, dispute resolution etc. Ensuring Contract administration is completed strictly in accordance with the NEC4 form of contract. Furthermore, a key aspect of the role will be to validate, test and have the confidence to negotiate and finalise work orders with contractors. Attention to detail will be required when completing monthly cost and value reports using the appropriate Seven Trent Water systems. You will need excellent communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with and influence a wide range of stakeholders.The skills and experience required to be successful include
• Good knowledge of contract law, ideally with experience of the NEC 3 • Methodical way of thinking • Good knowledge of construction • Excellent problem-solving skills • Good financial and numeracy management skills • Excellent communication and negotiating skills • The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily • Computer literateQualifications
• Water or utilities industry experience desirable • Undergraduate degree accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in quantity surveying, commercial management or a related construction subject or a postgraduate conversion course accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) • Full UK Driving LicenseSevern Tent benefits include…
