Salary: Scale 3, SCP 5-6 (£22,800 - £23,211)

Contract type: 35 hours a week – 43 weeks per year (T.T.O +3 weeks)

Jubilee Primary School is a flourishing, multicultural, 2FE Primary school situated in the heart of Lambeth, South West London. The Governing Body of Jubilee Primary School would like to invite applications for the post of Attendance and Welfare Assistant, and are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced colleague to join the school. The successful candidate will provide a high quality, efficient and effective administrative service to the school, working as part of the office and admin support team to meet the needs of the school.

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional, dedicated and committed Attendance and Welfare Assistant to start as soon as possible.

The successful applicant must have oversight and implement the school’s attendance strategy and improve student attendance and punctuality across Key Stages 1&2.

The role will be to work alongside key staff across the school to promote outstanding attendance and reduce levels of absence including persistent absenteeism. To work with pupils and their families to promote high levels of attendance and punctuality and improve overall welfare and progress of vulnerable pupils where identified. Form and maintain positive relationships with ‘hard to reach’ families.

To provide specific support in relation to attendance for all year groups and ensure all aspects of the School’s Attendance Policy are administered in a way that meets the aims and objectives of the school. Be a lead person in school with Multi-Agency work where appropriate.

To be the lead person on First Aid in the school. To attend to pupils who are sent to the welfare room because they are ill, have had an accident or otherwise need first aid treatment

In addition to relevant qualifications and experience you will need to be highly professional, with excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to work highly efficiently both on your own and as part of a team and be solution focused. Additional requirements include outstanding interpersonal skills, time management, and the ability to use a range of data management systems. A commitment to training and responsibility for continued professional development is essential.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
