Job title:    Personal Assistant/ Care-Worker

9 hours per week includes 2.5 to promote independence some hours will

be to call on a morning the employee will negotiate with you regarding hours

Some personal care – help with washing hair 

Housework 

Holiday Entitlement – 5.6 weeks per annum pro rata

Probationary Period – 3 months

The lady would like someone who will motivate her and not place limitations on her rather empower her.

Previously the lady was extremely active and enjoyed horse riding and water skiing.

She has a bubbly personality and is very outgoing and enjoys mixing with others.

 

Main Duties:

Calling on a morning to support with personal care above.

Promote independence in the community

Housework

 

Essentials 

v   Show initiative and flexibility

v   Be sensitive to her needs and feelings.

v   Communication is important from both parties.

v   Attend work punctually and consistently.

v   Maintain confidentiality at all times.

 

Skills

v  To be able to work unsupervised. 

v  Good communication and listening skills. 

v  To be able to take decisions and make sound judgements. 

Other 

v  To be willing to undertake a dbs check and offer two referees.The dbs will be paid for by the council.
In general, to undertake all care work with the sensitivity required to provide services in a way, which will preserve the dignity, choice, independence, fulfilment and rights of the lady.

Training – At present extensive training will be offered through skills for care and you will be paid whilst attending the training your hourly rate plus transport costs.  This will be paid through your salary.  

Holidays – You will be expected to liaise with the lady regarding your holidays and give notice.
