About Us

We are Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales, an independent charitable trust funded by the profits of Lloyds Banking Group. We partner with small and local charities that help people overcome complex social issues such as mental health, homelessness and domestic abuse.

Through funding for core costs, developmental support and influencing policy and practice, to help those charities make a life-changing impact.

We are now seeking 11 Development Partners for defined regions across the country to support 12-15 charities each for a 12 month fixed-term contract. These are part-time roles working 7.5 - 8.5 days per month throughout the 12 month contract.

This is the ideal time to work alongside small but vital charities as they start the recovery process from the COVID pandemic, ensuring that communities who need their support are not left behind. You’ll be at the heart of the support we provide and will be ensuring the UK’s small charity network is in the best possible place it can be to continue their vital work.

The Role

As a Development Partner, you will work across the East Midlands supporting between 12 and 15 local charities to support their organisational development during the COVID-19 recovery period.

As the primary point of contact between our foundation and each charity, you will build a trusting relationship and use a framework we have created to identify development need and provide a benchmark for organisational development.

Working hand-in-hand with the charities within your region, you will develop action plans, provide practical and strategic support and address development needs. You will be involved in a wide variety of activities, from helping with fundraising applications to identifying resource needs and linking with local networks and partnerships.

Your role will also see you:

- Help charities to utilise our Enhance capacity building programme or access wider Foundation support
- Support networking and peer learning across all regions
- Frequently travel to visit charities (once it is safe to do so)
- Work closely with the Regional Manager to provide shadowing opportunities and share learning

About You

To be considered as a Development Partner, you will need:

- At least three years’ experience of developing trusting and impactful relationships with charity leaders within small and medium-sized charities (income under £1 million)
- At least three years’ experience of supporting charities to develop the way they are managed and the way they deliver services
- Knowledge of the local community and voluntary sector in the East Midlands and a deep understanding of the wider ecosystem, having managed relationships within it
- Wider knowledge of the fundraising and grant giving sector
- Experience of managing the momentum of development work whilst understanding the constraints of small charities
- Direct experience of a range of challenges that small and medium-sized charities face and of supporting charities to identify and address such issues
