NHS Borders Psychology service is delighted to be inviting applications for a Clinical Psychologist with enthusiasm and initiative to join our Tier 3 CAMH Service. We are currently undergoing a period of change and Quality Improvement in our CAMHS service and welcome applications from Clinical Psychologists with a strong interest and/or experience in working with children and young people.

Our NHS Borders CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary (Tier 3) service offering specialist services to children and young people up to the age of 18 years. We are a small, friendly service that prides itself on providing a supportive working atmosphere. We provide clinical placements to a trainee CAAP and a trainee Clinical Psychologist each year. We work closely with two paediatric psychologists and a music therapist.

The psychology team work as part of the multi-disciplinary teams based at the Andrew Lang Unit, Selkirk. Professional and line management is provided by the Speciality Lead/Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the Service.

The post-holder will provide a specialised Clinical Psychology service to children, young people and their families. The role requires relevant knowledge and clinical skills in working with a range of child and adolescent mental health problems, including complexity and risk. In addition to holding a clinical caseload, the post-holder will also contribute to Supervision, Consultation and Training delivery as required. Support to complete formal training in Supervision will be provided if required.

Eligible applicants will have completed, or about to complete, a postgraduate Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology and will be eligible for registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical) with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Candidates are expected to have a full driving licence and use of own car for work purposes in order to provide service delivery in locality clinics across the Borders region. The Borders service is within commutable distance from Edinburgh.
