This is an office based role however due to the current situation (Covid), this role will initially be based from home.


Reporting to the Group HR Director, and operating as part of the wider group HR team, this role will support the development and delivery of the HR strategy for all groups based within our Exeter office. Developing employees and managers, providing professional HR advice and support, whilst ensuring that the company manages risk appropriately.

This is a full generalist role and will involve:

  • Contributing to development of the Group HR strategy and annual people plan
  • Development & delivery of local HR strategies in partnership with leadership teams. Identifying & implementing solutions to ensure right people, right place, right time for all teams
  • Coaching and supporting managers to develop their skills through management of every day HR issues
  • Supporting the development & maintenance of high-performance cultures
  • Providing expert guidance for local management on application of HR policy and employment legislation
  • In partnership with leadership teams support organisational change management activity, maximising employee engagement
  • Leadership of reward cycles for your business units, including salary & bonus review
  • In collaboration with our Talent Acquisition and Organisational Development teams, developing solutions for your business units and the wider group
  • Ensuring all organisational change management activity is supported appropriately
  • Full line management responsibility for HR Advisor.

You will be articulate, confident and self-motivated with the ability to organise, plan and prioritise team workload. You will be happy to be hands on and demonstrate high levels of creativity, energy & resolve. You will also have/be:

  • Strong HR generalist experience advising & coaching line management both strategically and tactically, preferably from a technology-based business.
  • Experience of supporting IT/Technology/Software development teams would be an advantage.
  • Certificate in Personnel Practice or equivalent as a minimum
  • Previous experience of line management.
  • Understanding of employment legislation and how to pragmatically apply this within a commercial work environment
  • Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills
  • Experience of HR Databases (Workday would be an advantage)
  • PC Literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
