Dadzclub Project Coordinator

Fatherhood has evolved and today’s modern men want to be much more actively involved in parenting. Exploring all things dad, the highs and the lows, Dadzclub is building a supportive network of like minded fathers.
Dadzclub promotes positive parenting and the role father figures play whilst tackling parental isolation and gender stereotyping. Working in partnership with key organisations Dadzclub seeks to compliment the local offer and acts to celebrate and encourage best parental practice and helps fathers in further need of support to be the best father figures they can be.
Dads don’t babysit. It’s called “Parenting”.
Dadzclub is a project offered through The Parenting Network which is a not-for-profit, Community Interest Company working to build a supportive community of families in the Portsmouth area.
Responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering two Dadzclub group sessions a week for fathers and their children. One mid week group and one Saturday morning group, both taking place within family hubs located in Portsmouth.
Support the Dadzclub online community, responding to posts and messages, signposting to areas of support. Develop professional, entertaining, informative and engaging online content and facilitate discussions.
Supporting Dadzclub at events and actively reaching out and promoting Dadzclub to other dads and male care givers.
Build up a positive working relationship with local support services.
Any other duty as required by the line manager commensurate with the post.
You need to:
Be passionate about parenting and be knowledgeable of widely accepted best parental practice.
Have at least one years relevant experience working with families.
Be able to identify the needs of an individual child/family and foster development, independence, self esteem and self reliance.
Have a natural flair of confidence and a good communicator with both adults and children.
Be creative and able to plan engaging activities for adults and children of all ages.
Have experience of working with support services, community organisations or groups and have an understanding of the available local support on offer to families.
Possess a passion for Portsmouth and the diverse communities, organisations and events that make up the city.
Work collaboratively alongside all Parenting Network staff to deliver high quality, consistent and reliable support for families using our services.
Enjoy developing positive working relationships with the local community, the local authority, charity and third sector organisations in order to create a network of support for families.
Understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.
Adhere to all policies, procedures and health and safety processes, including maintaining high levels of hygiene and safety to keep environments Covid-safe.
Demonstrate excellent social media skills.
Have excellent administration and interpersonal skills.
Be available to work 3 hours per week on a Saturday morning.
Be a car driver.
