Maintenance Engineer

We require a Multi-skilled Shift Engineer with electrical bias to join the maintenance team for our client based in Worcester close to the City Centre. This is a well established, world renowned food production company. This is an ongoing assignment with the potential to become permanent following a successful trial period. The site also benefits from free parking. The role will be reporting directly to the Maintenance team leader, and will be supporting the shift team leader to ensure production requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering breakdown support for the site, execute changeovers and continuous improvement activities
  • Diagnose and overcome operational problems, working with the production team to identify root cause, suggest and implement improvements to address reliability
  • Execute PPM tasks and effectively react to unscheduled maintenance requirements
  • Plan, schedule and agree daily/weekly workload with the Maintenance Team Leader incorporating preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance activities
  • Support the technical up-skilling programme of Production Operators (changeovers, shut down and CIP procedures)
  • Maintain services to the site and control the use of spare parts
  • Understand and operate production equipment and CIP procedures to provide operator cover to an absolute minimum
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times, and quality, safety, performance and attendance standards are maintained
  • Takes responsibility for safe operation, fault finding and maintenance of all machinery, as well as own personal safety – and the safety of colleagues
  • Actively looks for areas of improvement, proposes and supports the implementation of adequate solutions
  • Willing involvement in continuous improvement activity
  • Utilises SAP and MII software to record data and ensures all production data is captured via appropriate methods (paper or electronically) accurately and with sufficient detail
  • Good communication with all employees
  • Takes pride in maintaining the standards in and around own working area and any areas of allocated ownership
  • Take ownership for own personal development, including preparing for and attending monthly one to one review meetings with line manager
