Description

Are you looking for the next stage of your career? Could you play a key part in our children's home for children with learning disabilities?

We have recently opened a new residential children’s home in St Albans. With the manager in place we are now looking to build our team of Support Workers so the next step is to recruit a Team Leader to work closely with our manager.

Outline of Role

What will your days be like? Well you'll deputise for the manager, supporting with every stage of developing the new service. You'll provide coaching, mentoring and encouragement to your team, working with them to find creative ways of interacting with children who have learning disabilities and/or autism. You'll provide direct support to the children, and liaise with families, social workers and other members of each child's support circle.

At this residential home, we can be supporting up to four children and young people, aged 10 to 18, who have learning disabilities and complex needs. This environment will be new to them, and you'll need to be aware of this and help support them with their anxieties as they settle in. As time goes on, the children and staff team will grow together in confidence and trust.

Shifts will be 7.5 hours per day over five days.

We'll support you with a focused induction and extensive training, including the opportunity to take part in MacIntyre's internal leadership programme, and to gain your Level 3 Diploma in residential childcare, free of charge.
