Are you looking for a chance to earn some extra money in your spare time? Or are you interested in seeing if becoming a support worker is for you?
Join us and support and empower adults with learning disabilities and autism to live a life that makes sense to them. You'll soon see just how rewarding this is.
You'll join us as a Relief (Bank) Support Worker covering the shifts at our registered care service in Wigan.
This is a truly rewarding role where you'll be working across different services with a range of people who all need support to access a life that makes sense to them, you will be a vital part of the team and supported by your Manager and peers. You will take part in fun days out, helping with shopping and cooking, keeping the people we support safe and encouraging them to be part of their local community. This is a rewarding role with great benefits - all it takes is for YOU to join the team.
How Relief work
The Relief (Bank) post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave/sickness/training/unforeseen circumstances. As such, hours are non specific but the service will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work/life balance as appropriately as possible.
We normally plan the rotas one month in advance and there is no obligation to accept the work. If you unable to do any shifts you will remain on our Relief register for 3 months before automatically dropping off. Of course the more you put in, the more you will get out of this. Could also be a great way to see if this is the career path for you whilst earning some extra money at the same time!
What we need from you
You don't need experience as we provide a full induction and free training programme. What's important is that you share our values, have a positive approach and are willing to learn.
We would prefer that you are a car driver for some of the services. All our relief roles have the opportunity to convert to permanent.
