City Tree Officer (TPO Review Officer)

About this role:

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of City Tree Officer (TPO Review Officer) within Southampton City Council’s Trees team.

You will be qualified to a minimum of Level 4 in Arboriculture or have relevant experience to undertake the role.

You will support the Arboricultural Manager in the provision of a complete arboricultural advisory service for trees in Southampton through:

  • Preparing and serving Tree Preservation Orders.
  • Processing applications for works on protected trees and monitoring on going works.
  • Liaising with Development Control concerning the impact of development on trees.
  • Monitoring works on development sites with regard to tree protection.
  • Preparing and presenting reports to Council meetings

You will have the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a range of audiences, and have a high level of IT literacy. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to write, understand and act on technical reports, legal documentation and other general correspondence.
