Ansty Park Store Support Centre
In a nutshell
To ensure the integrity and controls of accounting (both Opex and Capex) for the OneTech expenditure including the resulting entries in the Periodic and Statutory Accounts. This is to enable the business to manage costs and satisfy their fiduciary duties to the Company.
What you need to do
Lead and motivate a team of 1 direct report and 2 indirect reports to manage the OneTech accounting process for both OPEX and CAPEX, ensuring processing of journals each period is timely and in accordance with Group Policy for both the JSIS and Argos entities.
Within CAPEX, accountable for the management of both WIP and the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) for OneTech including management of and accounting for the periodic depreciation process and all associated Balance sheet accounts
Build of the capex and opex periodic performance reporting vs budget, including managing the process of the production of various capex/opex schedules for period accounts and audit purposes
Lead the Half Year (HY) and Full Year (FY) deliverables for OneTech
Ensure that a robust financial control environment exists within the teams, evidenced by correct accounting procedures being complied with and periodic Balance Sheet account reconciliations being
performed and timely reporting of risks/opportunities
Work closely with the OneTech Business Partnering team, becoming the main point of contact, embedding a culture of challenge that should result in a "you and me agree" ethos between the Accounting and Reporting Team and the Finance Business Partering Team.
Main contact with External Auditors in relation to OneTech Accounting queries throughout the year.
Review processes within the Team with a view to improving efficiency and accuracy of data, approaching with a continuous improvement ethos.
Recruit and develop a strong team with ability for moving into other finance roles as opportunities.
Assess the implications on the financial statements of changes in accounting policy and IAS's for Tech.
What you need to know and show
Qualified accountant, including experience ideally within retail or an equivalent fast moving organisation
Experience of maintaining strong financial controls
Ideally experience of the Oracle/Blackline systems
Strong organisational and analytical skills
Strong team management / supervisory skills
High level of energy and drive
Good written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with other stakeholders
Able to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines in a constantly changing environment
