The opportunity

As a Senior Consultant within the Supply Chain Transformation (SCT) Consulting practice, you’ll get the opportunity to work with some of the UK’s largest companies and government organisations across many aspects of their global supply chains

You will be part of a collaborative team that applies the latest technologies, analytics and principal methodologies to help transform clients’ supply chains and make a real difference to our working world.

You will develop innovative solutions for our clients and have opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies such as robotic process automation, machine learning and Block Chain; as well as supply chain software platforms like OMP, o9, Kinaxis, SAP IBP & S/4 HANA.


Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant, SCT, you will be part of a diverse, wider team directly working with our clients on complex supply chain projects. Examples of projects you may typically be involved in include:

  • Supply chain strategy - redesigning a client’s supply chain operating model, or logistics network
  • Supply chain planning optimisation - applying deep planning analytics, and/or redesigning planning processes
  • Digital supply chain projects - using cognitive automation, AI and bots to improve and automate supply chain processes

You will typically be responsible for steering a workstream within a project, or being a core member of the team, and will self-sufficiently handle your deliverables in this role, with the support and coaching of senior management staff.

You will also be involved in developing proposals and bids and will actively contribute to EY thought leadership and internal operational initiatives.


Skills and attributes for success


Skill Experience

Supply Chain Strategy

Operating Model Design, segmentation strategy, inventory optimisation and Planning Transformation

Supply Chain Planning Functional

Demand and supply planning, sales & operations planning, and/or production scheduling with consumer goods experience

Supply Chain Planning with Technology

Implementing one of the following technology platforms, either from a Business Integrator, Systems Integrator or Client role:

OMP; Kinaxis; o9; SAP IBP; Blue Yonder; SAP S/4 HANA

Supply Chain Analytics

Developing detailed supply chain analytics to deliver enhanced E2E SC visibility e.g. creating and connecting supply chain models to customer and pricing analytics

Digital Supply Chain

Applying or implementing next-generation supply chain technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, cognitive automation and AI, Internet-of-Things (IOT), Blockchain, big data analytics

Logistics

Logistics network design and network modelling, global customs and trade, warehouse optimisation and redesign, 3PL and 4PL or supply chain Control Tower management

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in consulting and/or an operational role in the following industries:

Consumer Products; Retail; High Tech; Energy & Assets; Utilities; Telecommunications; Oil & Gas; Industrial Products; Automotive; Defence; Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences; Public Sector

  • Knowledge and experience in at least one of the aforementioned skill areas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to adapt your style to engage effectively and build productive working relationships with clients and team members of varying seniority
  • Proactive approach, able to work in different environments to deliver high quality work products
  • Innovative qualities, thinking about how to do things in new, more efficient ways, both internally and with clients
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance for engagements, where required
