We are looking for dynamic, flexible individuals with great organisation skills and proven administrative experience to support our school governing bodies. You will play a vital role, supporting our governors to provide Hampshire’s schools with the leadership and guidance they need. You will oversee the organisation of meetings, typically in the evenings. You will also record accurate minutes, and advise on changes in legislation, policy and governance issues.
A motivated self-starter, you will be able to work under your own initiative, manage deadlines, and keep accurate records. The ability to remain impartial, comply with data protection legislation and maintain confidentiality is essential. As part of this role, you are required to undertake the clerks’ development programme as well as the 'accredited clerk qualification'.
Although the role is mostly home-based, travel to Hampshire Schools is required within a 15-mile distance. It is a requirement of the role that you have access to the internet, a home computer, Microsoft Word (or a compatible application) and a printer as most of the work will be home-based.
Please note: you will be permanently linked to a school and your salary will be dependent on the number of hours the school has bought through its subscription. The minimum contracted hours for a school are sixty-six per annum. There may be the opportunity to support more than one school, dependent on availability. Clerks are paid on an annualised hours basis which means you will receive your salary in equal monthly payments.
For a full list of the role responsibilities and requirements, please refer to the Job Description / Person Specification.
