Part time role of 18-20 hours per week over 52-week curriculum (possibility of flexibility for the right candidate). Also a flexible role re short breaks hours up to 300 hours per year
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a TA with experience of working with Autistic children to join a multidisciplinary team, comprising a SLT, OT, EP, Teacher and parents.
We are looking for fun, creative people able to support and deliver a differentiated, child-led and child-centred programme based around play to a 7-year old young person. Run from a home base, the curriculum will be delivered in real life settings across the community with the young person taking on a role as partner within this programme.
The programme will be built within the **SCERTS** model framework, a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach designed to support a child's development alongside caregivers and familiar partners, in everyday routines in a variety of social situations, not primarily through work with a child in isolation. This will provide the framework for other programmes of support, including **Intensive Interaction** and the **Hanen “More than words** ” programme.
Reporting to the teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting and delivering a programme that incorporates **Sensory Integration** and **Sensory Motor Activities** , with **Speech Language and Communication** embedded within all activities.
This will be a waking day curriculum that will include supporting a young person with their learning support needs across all aspects of their waking day and personal care.

Be patient, kind,caring and passionate about supporting young children with SEND and will bring energy and positivity to the team.
Be experienced in working with and supporting young people who find it difficult to use spoken words and or are described as non-verbal, who may communicate through behaviour that some may find challenging , have complex support need, have sensory processing and motor disorders
Understand that all behaviour is communication.
Be able to work collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary team.
Support the teacher with development of the necessary resources to deliver the programme.
Live and believe in equality and equity for all
Will engage alongside our young person in all activities and educational settings. This will include such things as swimming. Hiking/walking, cooking lunch, music/singing/dancing, sensory art and craft, going to the park and using all the equipment together. It is a very active and very creative programme.
Will engage in ongoing CPD and training
Can and will drive as the programme will be out in community-based settings
Be involved in appropriate ad hoc duties as and when required.
Have a good sense of humour and a sense of fun
Experience of working within an Early Years setting (or equivalent) may be advantageous due to the nature of child-led play and the complex profile of our young partner.
