An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the team at some of our Welsh services.
The Priory Hospital Church Village is a 12 bedded locked rehabilitation service for females aged 18 to 65 with a mild learning disability and associated mental health problems. The majority of our patients have a personality disorder. We use a range of approaches in order to manage challenging and high risk behaviours including PBS and DBT skills. The role would require 3 days per week to be spent at this site. There would also be a requirement to spend 1 day per week providing cover to our 3 Enhanced Community Homes in Cardiff. Beechley Drive is an 8 bedded mixed gender service, Avalon a 6 bedded mixed gender service and Princes Street a 5 bedded male service. Each of the homes care for service users with learning disabilities and associated mental health issues, using recovery focused treatment approaches and care pathways.
The post holder will work closely with our Multidisciplinary Team and be committed to providing patient focused care, comprehensive risk assessment, promoting high standards of care, and interested in developing the service. The hospital is part of the Developmental Disorder Network, and the post holder would have the opportunity to be involved in the network and help to shape the development of learning disability services across Priory Healthcare.
The postholder is expected to be on the GMC specialist register for Learning Disability Psychiatry and hold current Welsh AC approval.
The post holder would contribute to the on call rota covering The Priory Hospital Church Village, Priory Hospital Ty Catrin and Priory Hospital Ty Cwm Rhondda, as well as the 3 Enhanced Community Homes. Currently the requirement is to provide 1 evening per week cover as part of contracted salary.
