Diagnostic Imaging Lead - MRI, General and Theatre Radiographer

One Hatfield Hospital, Hertfordshire has a vacancy for a Diagnostic Imaging Lead with experience and skills to train and work in MRI, General, X-ray and Theatre Radiography.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To provide MRI, General, X-ray and Theatre radiographer along with ensuring compliance with IRMER regulations. Assumes professional responsibility for the delivery of patient care in the radiography and Theatre department.
- Deliver a high standard of individualised patient care, being sensitive to patients needs for dignity and privacy
- Ensure that the agreed standards of patient care and confidentiality are maintained in accordance with company policies
- Promote clinical excellence at all times
- Lead the implementation of departmental action plans as a result of clinical audit and review
Hours:
37.5 hrs Fully flexible Monday to Sunday. On call commitment

Experience
- Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment and independently as required
- At least 5 years management experience
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a clinical services team
- Ideally private hospital experience
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills in the area of clinical practice
- Experience of working in an imaging department with the opportunity to consolidate skills
Skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills
- Sound computer skills using MS Office Suite and web based reporting systems PACS/RIS
- Sound written numerical and verbal communication skills
- Significant experience of staff leadership, and supervision within an imaging department
- Enthusiasm for providing high quality patient care
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills in the area of clinical practice
- Planning and organisational skills
- Commercial and financial awareness
Desirables
- Worked in an imaging department within the private sector
- Degree or diploma in Radiography
- Ideally a Member of the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR)
Clinical Services
- Provide high quality individualised imaging services for patients, being sensitive to patients needs for dignity and privacy
- Control radiation doses to patients and staff in line with As Low As Reasonably Practical (ALARP)
- Ensures that the agreed standards of patient care and confidentiality are maintained in accordance with company policies
- Adhere to HCPC & SCoR code of conduct and guidelines patients needs for dignity and privacy

- Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and within a team structure
- Behave in a friendly and supportive manner to other employees
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively with all members of the team

- Be actively involved in development and implementation of clinical governance and risk management plans
- Oversee care delivery and co-ordinate activities of the team to optimise patient outcomes with available resources whilst complying with regulatory and statutory requirements
- Where required develop and implement action plans as a result of clinical audit and reviews
- Support the Director of Clinical Services in the identification, review and management of the service in line with changes in clinical practice, SCoR &/or HCPC standards, regulatory authority requirements including CQC, insurance companies and company policies and procedures
- Accountable for all direct reports
- Proactively manage health, safety and wellbeing of team members and treat employees fairly, equitably and with respect
- Select, appoint, support and retain the most appropriately qualified and experienced candidates to Radiography positions
- Ensure new employees are inducted to One Ashford, the organisation and their department in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct annual appraisal & performance development reviews with all direct reports on an annual basis or more frequently if required and for new employees within the probation period
- Facilitate employees attendance at all relevant mandatory training sessions, e.g. manual handling and emergency procedures, in line with legislative and company requirements
- Support clinical supervision
- Ensure training needs are identified and training plans in place to meet individual, professional and organisational needs and that education and professional development activities are aligned with strategic direction and requirements of the hospital
- Promote and encourage the professional development of all clinical staff
- Recognise and tolerate individual differences in others including gender, sexual preferences, age, disability and culture in line with companys Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work policies
- Maintain communication networks with key senior managers, staff and other stakeholders so that quality business outcomes are achieved

- Promote the services and people of the hospital to both internal and external clients
- Promote best practice in line with organisational policies and procedures
- Be involved and support quality projects being undertaken in the department and the organisation
- Participate in the annual continuous improvement/risk management plan to ensure patient safety
- Participate in reviews of patient experience feedback and complaints to identify opportunities for improvements and to remain responsive to patients views
