Description

We are seeking to appoint a Library Services Adviser to join our User Services team at Lancaster University, a top ten UK University. Our Library service is innovative and sector leading, with a strong reputation across many areas.

We provide inspirational and high-quality learning environments that encourage academic excellence, promote partnership working and respond to the changing expectations of our users.

You will become part of an enquiry team delivering front-line customer service excellence across library opening hours, supporting students, wherever they may be located, via existing and emerging communication channels. The team provide a proactive, welcoming, presence to all our users and assist in maintaining and developing the Library as an outstanding study environment.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliability and previous experience of team working in a customer-focused role are essential.

In addition to the fixed hours, applicants may be asked to cover other shifts when needed, both during weekdays and at weekends.

We are seeking to appoint to the following profile:

Post A (part-time, permanent, term-time and Easter vacation only)

  • Saturday and Sunday 07.45-16.00 in term-time.
  • Saturday and Sunday 09.45-18.00 in Easter vacation.
