My client is an established company that specialise in the Water industry. Due to their excellent work and high standards, they are actively looking for an Estimator to support this.
In this position you will take full responsibility for a significant part of the Projects Department. This role involves making cost calculations and providing clients with quotations of work and labour, negotiation with suppliers on labour and materials and handovers.
This role would ideally suit an ambitious estimator from a water authorities background who is working on cost estimations or has done so in the past. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer from a water authorities background to become one of the specialists in their field.
Responsibilities: •Responsible for the day to day delivery of the commercial estimating needs of the Mechanical installations •Ensure accurate estimates and tenders are produced in a timely and professional manner. •Interpretation of mechanical drawings and specifications. •Reviewing tender enquiry documents and schedules. •Record, measure and prepare take-off quantities from tender drawings. •Liaise with Sales Team/ Contracting Team/ Clients. •Liaise with purchasing and negotiating with suppliers. •Collate and prepare accurate quotations for submission including a commercial review of the T&C’s for each submission. •Continually assessing and improving the estimating model within the business.
Essential Requirements: •Technically competent with a good understanding of mechanical installation methods and pricing. •Excellent understanding of commercial tendering process and associated activities. •At Least 3 Years in a mechanical estimating role. •Good understanding of design principles •Basic use of CAD products to view and take off drawings. •Strong Microsoft Excel/Word skills. •Track record of handling multiple tender packages. •Strong negotiation Mechanical qualifications skills. •Able to work to tight and strict deadlines. •Analytical skills able to review data.
