Our Contextual AI harnesses data from an array of sources, and utilises our own proprietary machine learning technology to enrich the data and output a recommended course of action in a matter of minutes. The result: lower costs for insurers and superior service for customers, giving you reassurance when you need it most.

Founded in 2018, our solutions are already being used by some of the world’s biggest insurers, including Zurich, MetLife and Generali, and we have backing from some of Europe’s leading VCs (Amadeus Capital Partners, Playfair Capital, Techstars).

But this is just the beginning, and we want you to be part of the growth story, from seed to Sprout!

The role:

This is a hugely exciting role for - currently 15 people, but on course to grow exponentially in 2021, we’re looking for our very first VP of People to lead all things across the People spectrum throughout the employee lifecycle. From onboarding, to resource planning, to performance management, learning and development, employee engagement and development and more, we’re looking for an ambitious People specialist who can help us build for scale! Most importantly, this role will be responsible for helping build, codify and champion a world-class working culture - you will be a guiding hand in shaping what it means to be a part of Sprout for years to come! Reporting directly to the CEO/Co-Founder, you will have a huge amount of responsibility, autonomy and creative control to build the people function as you see fit. This is an opportunity to shape your function from the ground up!

  • Design a people strategy and vision that supports a high-performance culture for now, whilst ensuring that is set up for scale in the years to come.
  • Within the first 6 months, you will have built and installed a company-wide onboarding process
  • Work with Co-Founders to build and champion a world-class company culture.
  • Work closely with Talent to scale the company to 35 FTE in your first 6 months, and to 50+ by the end of 2021
  • Roll out a benefits package, monitor its effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Own the resource planning process to ensure structure and foresight is built into the headcount planning process
  • Create a clear development plan and progression framework for employees and management within the first 6 months
  • Build and roll-out a company-wide performance evaluation framework within 6 months
  • Be the business’ main knowledge source for all matters of employment law
  • Champion the use of people-centric data to optimise and drive our People strategy.


  • Proven HR experience in a senior role, ideally with high-growth startups collaborating with C-Level management and Founders.
  • A proven track record of success within scaling businesses, fast-paced environments, and startups.
  • A genuine passion for creating an environment and working culture where people are happy and can succeed.
  • High EQ, natural empathy, and a desire to truly understand problems and help people solve them.
  • Excellent knowledge of HR processes and policies - experience in building and implementing these from scratch, including onboarding, org design/development, compensation frameworks, benefits, employee engagement and more.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation.
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to plan, prioritise and organise, and the foresight to build for scale.
  • The ability to implement your own ideas, a bias for action, and an ability to solve problems.
