The Role

We are looking for a VP People with experience in scaling companies from 100 to 250+ people and beyond. Joining MarketFinance's Leadership team, you’ll be hands on as you work closely with leaders to develop a people strategy that will allow our team to thrive. You will have overall responsibility for bringing in and retaining top talent across all our teams, and will work closely across the business to ensure we are developing our people so they can fulfil their potential and our company goals.

What you’ll be doing

As VP People, you’ll be hands on as you work closely with leadership to develop out our people strategy that allows our team to thrive. We can’t wait for the experience you’ll bring to the role of scaling companies from 100 to 250+ people and beyond! Here are some of the things that will keep you busy:

  • Partner with the Leadership team: Act as a key partner with the senior leaders in the business on how to develop and refine company culture as we scale. Coach and mentor senior leadership and founder direct reports as the company grows.
  • Organisation design: Be the lead on workforce planning (including guidance on appropriate budgeting), organisational structure and change management. Work with the team to identify high-potential talent and upskill them to take on more responsibility.
  • Attracting talent: Work with our Talent Acquisition team to set a strategy for identifying, sourcing and closing on the best talent for all our future expansion plans. Drive best in class operational hiring metrics such as time to hire and cost per hire. Ensure hiring process and candidate experience is consistent across all hiring teams.
  • Compensation Strategy: Work with the finance and talent teams to ensure that we benchmark and structure our employee compensation plan to attract and retain top talent to and within MarketFinance.
  • Talent Development: Develop and improve our processes to onboard new joiners into the company, ensuring that every starter at MarketFinance gets the best experience possible, and one that continues right throughout their career here as they progress through our organisation. Develop a strategic and actionable approach to employee engagement and work with the team to implement retention strategies.
  • Given our company value of #AlwaysBeLearning, we have a big focus on building a culture of continual learning and quick feedback loops. You will be responsible for leading and implementing this consistently across the whole company. You’ll drive our company culture across the team.
  • KPI & Goal Setting: Coach and develop our team leads to make sure that goals and KPI’s are set correctly and regularly reviewed and evaluated. We want our teams to own their key KPIs and feel challenged and motivated by how to achieve them.

About you:

  • Experience leading a People function at a high growth technology scale-up, and mentored both junior and senior members of a team to deliver exception results
  • Ability to work with and align with company founders
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the way a company works because that helps you get the job done
  • Track record implementing scalable people processes, synching with compliance and legal best practice
  • Designed or re-designed and built an organisational structure practically from the ground up
  • Passion for employee engagement and creative when it comes to ways to make this a business priority
  • Expert knowledge of compensation strategies and how to position them internally and externally
  • Organised and able to deliver business critical priorities
  • Data-driven and thoughtful about key trends and employee feedback
  • Willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck-in
