Role Outline
To support the development of a sector leading Transactional Service through the management of a team of staff responsible for the provision of high-quality HR-Recruitment, Contractual Administration and Payroll services to the business, its shared/collaborative partners, its companies, its schools, and academies.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
· Manage a specialized area of activity and/or lead and develop new initiatives to ensure that costs, benefits and risks are fully evaluated.
· To ensure that effective and efficient processes and procedures are in place to ensure that all employees, pensioners, and other relevant stakeholders are paid correctly and in a timely manner.
· To manage all budgets, contracts, and procurement relevant to the efficient and effective delivery of the specialised area of activity.
· Provide independent challenge, analysis and interpretation of financial and performance information to ensure that inefficiencies, irregularities and performance variances (financial and non-financial) are investigated and opportunities for improved service delivery and performance management are identified and implemented.
· Interpret evaluate and report financial and related business information to corporate managers, Members, clients and partner organisations, both orally and in writing, to support service improvement and ensure informed decision making on service planning and development.
· Assess all risks associated with issues falling within the defined area of responsibility and employ resources to ensure that officers and Members are advised appropriately and the interests of the business, and its client and partner organisations, are safeguarded.
· Ensure business information requirements are reflected in the specification for and production of appropriate management information from key corporate and Directorate specific business systems.
To be suitable for this position you will need to hold the following:
- Qualifications in HR or Finance with desire for ongoing development
- Proven track record in Finance Performance environment
- In depth experience working within a relevant local authority/government role
- In depth technical knowledge and understanding of HR and Payroll practice
