Position summary:
This role will report to the General Manager for Eastern Europe, Turkey, Russia, CIS (EETRCIS) Commercial Operations in Infectious Disease Emerging Markets (IDEM) division.
The primary role is to drive commercial and strategic business plan that will provide new business opportunities and result in increase in market share, high volume and efficiency for EETRCIS region. The total sales of the business is USD100MM with business opportunities in the range of up USD100MM. Conduct global external research on market competitiveness and consolidate macros and industry statistics for business making decision and market growth projection in EETRCIS.
This role will lead the strategy, planning and execution on a regional level of several key strategic and tactical business opportunities initiatives, including:
Strongly contributes to development of innovative solutions to drive growth in EETRCIS. Manage the risks and drives opportunities till deal closing and implementation of solutions. Build Relationship and create customer relationships with key country stakeholders and international stakeholders (eg: Funding agencies, NGOs, Development banks). Decide on and assess the viability of business opportunities based on presented findings of market research or analysis projects. Build and initiate high-level, significant relationship with potential partners, key decision-makers, and industry leaders to promote the organization's products and services. Work with internal stakeholders to identify areas of interest to evaluate potential partners. Lead cross-functional diligence team to identify, assess and make recommendations regarding transactions risk and opportunities Prepare presentations for senior executive management with overviews, analyses and financials of specific transactions under considerations.

Key responsibilities
Responsibilities including: Customer excellence, go-to market strategies, sales planning, market & competitive intelligence.
- Contributing to sales and marketing strategic decisions and playing a critical role in designing and monitoring commercial approach
- Lead the most critical, complex difficult meetings and negotiations with potential client and business partners to pursue business opportunities and protect the business unit's interest.
- Lad, direct, evaluate and develop a team of directors and managers to achieve established sales and business development opportunities.
- Translating strategic objectives into operational plans
- Coaching team members to deliver high performance and promote EETRCIS IDEM's Growth Values
- Working horizontally within the regions and Business Unit to drive alignment, execution, accountability and results
- Guarantee full compliance and Ensure full adherence to OEC processes
Key competencies for success in the position are:
- Problem Solving:
- Deep understanding of Infectious disease key players and scientific/regulatory environment
- Identify, assess and solve complex business problems for areas of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Demonstrate a strategic approach to achieve business objectives by asking strategic questions, aligning resources, developing action plans, and evaluating action plan results
- Analytics:
- Continuously maintain subject matter expertise with data sources and tools (including Business intelligence tools), and apply this expertise to develop data gathering tools, deliver high quality data and generate actionable insights and recommendations to achieve business objectives and address opportunities and/or challenges
- Internal and Field Stakeholder Management:
- Closely follow the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals
- Interact with senior management on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach
- Effectively communicate and partner up with internal and external stakeholders to align on business objectives and associated action plan
- Decision Making:
- Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
- Leadership and Teamwork / Collaboration:
- Manage or heavily aligned various functions that are included within the EETRCIS business unit Commercial, Operations, R&D, Regulatory, Legal, Finance etc.
- Contribute to the team's performance, actively collaborate within and beyond the team to design and ensure buy-in around solutions
- Project Management
- Utilizes project management tools and skills to organize and manage tasks and timelines in a manner that ensures timely completion of deliverables
- Ensures accuracy of analyses and other deliverables
- Ensures stakeholders are aligned with the progress of deliverables through the life of the project(s)
- Business Acumen
- Understanding of ID EM business, transform issues/problems in the standard of care into business opportunities
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in one of the following areas: Business, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and/or related field.
- Proven track record of success implementing business generating value of > $ 25 MM/y of revenues in at least one country, ideally with new solutions/initiatives.
- Over 10 years of commercial/sales experience
- Strong strategic thinking with ability to organize ideas into clear framework and action plan and ability to communicate to top leadership
- Ability to identify, prioritize, and execute partnership opportunities
- Strong people skills and ability to navigate in a cross functional matrix
- Grow and mentor team members, promote skills development
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to speak in public setting and / or large audiences.
- Experience in remote management of teams in a global setting, especially in emerging markets
- Fluent in English (Mandatory)
- 8-12 years of work experience in Consulting/Project Management (preferable)
- Candidates should have commercial experience, responsible for sales targets and leading commercial teams
- Candidates should understand the key challenges of infectious diseases in emerging markets but also have relevant experience outside the healthcare sector
- Must be able to travel 60-80%
