Reporting to Head of Compliance and working as part of an established 2nd line, your role will be embedding a forward looking plan and framework on compliance and building on the positive work we have done in building maturity around risk, controls and compliance. You will be managing a team of 2 and working as part of a wider Business Assurance team of 15.

How you'll make a difference

You will play a pivotal role in how we embed a forward looking compliance framework which will enable the business continue the good work we do within agreed risk appetites and regulatory requirements. You will work with all areas of the business to enhance our network of Compliance Champions and ensure we have coverage and proactivity in mitigating risks. Finally you will be managing a small team to champion and advocate for risk, compliance and controls across the business.

  • To support the Head of Compliance in developing, and creating a forward looking Compliance Function and companywide Compliance Framework to ensure the Company is operating within agreed risk appetites, whilst complying with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • As part of the second line assurance function, provide assurance to the Director of Business Assurance and various Governance committees, on the effectiveness of Camelot’s control environment.
  • To create a risk based Camelot compliance dashboard, incorporating effectiveness of controls operating in high risks areas, compliance against regulatory requirements and oversight.
  • To enhance the effectiveness of the Network of Risk and Compliance Champions across Camelot. To enhance coverage, oversight and proactive reporting of risk matters.
  • To execute a Camelot, compliance integrated framework/programme to provide second line assurance reporting on first line high risk activities, processes and procedures.
  • To enhance and make efficient, Camelot’s self-assessment control framework.

What you'll bring to the table

  • Proven experience of embedding compliance frameworks and in fast moving, commercial environments.
  • Experience of demonstrating positive compliance output, through effective reporting (dashboard and written reports).
  • Audit and Compliance qualifications and experience (which may encompass business administration, audit, finance, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, IT, BCP / DRP, QA, security and project management)
  • Be solutions orientated and being able to learn and manage complexity quickly.
  • High level of integrity and independence whilst also able to successfully partner with the business in meaningful ways through building trusting relationships and connections.
  • A strong collaborator, influencer, listener, to build consensus and a constructive working relationship across the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence, and ability to influence a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic mind-set.
  • Strong experience in business operations, along with regulatory exposure.
