Our Barnstaple facility is located in North Devon. Founded in 1948, the site now employs approximately 250 employees and features the Aero Stanrew brand of electromagnetic components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring and electronic test equipment for safety critical applications in aerospace and defence, industrial and transportation industries.

Introduction
As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced technical project manager with a track record in the sucessful delivery of engineering projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the Leadership and co-ordination of engineering projects related to electronics and test equipment to ensure they deliver on time, cost and quality.
Key Responsibilities
To provide project leadership for projects related to electronics and test equipment throughout lifecycle, from receipt of enquiry through to delivery or hand-off to operations.
Accountable for:
- Completion of allocated projects to meet requirements, within budget and on time.
- Issue of quotations for new projects on time to agreed target date.
- Project and personal conformance with all applicable company procedures and policies.
Responsible for:
Project (Product and Technology developments);
- Preparation and maintenance of project plans and task allocations
- Liaison with all functions within the business as necessary for successful execution of the project
- Monitoring and progressing tasks and deliverables
- Preparing and tracking Key Performance Indicators to measure quality, cost and delivery of allocated project(s).
- Reporting on project status to company management
- Co-ordination & communication with and between internal and external stakeholders on technical, schedule and commercial matters
- Managing changes of scope to balance customer requirements and our business commercial and operational needs
- Ensuring projects conform with all applicable contractual terms and conditions
- Ensuring projects conform with defined NPI and R&T procedures and policy
- Planning, preparing and running reviews
Carrying out tasks within the projects as required to achieve the project goals, including but not limited to;
- Reviewing of requirements & maintenance of compliance documentation
- Compilation of proposals and cost estimates, in collaboration with all appropriate functions within the business
- Supplier engagement and monitoring (working with supply chain team)
- Generation of Bills of Materials within the company ERP
- Reporting of project status to customers and/or funding agencies
- Compiling reports and presentations
- Completion of documentation and data entry required to secure payments
- Completion of quotation projects vs new products/technology from agreement to proceed with quote (Gate 0) to internal approval of proposal (Gate 2).
- Taking a pro-active approach to maintenance of a safe environment and working practices for themselves and others within the business involved in the execution of the projects they lead.
- Assisting in writing and improving relevant procedures for the efficient and effective operation of the business
- Supporting site audits (AS9100, etc) relating to areas of responsibility
- Supporting business development and presentations to our existing and potential customer
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Degree educated in a technical discipline, although an HND (or similar) with equivalent experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in project management of small to medium sized engineering development projects.
- Experience in core project management administration skills (gantt charts, etc)
- Understanding of engineering and able to understand and communicate technical issues
- Strong IT skills (MS Office, Project Planning, etc
- Strong planning skills and understanding of essentials of project management
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Independant, self-starter

- Willingness to learn and accept constructive advice

Desireable Skills and Experience
- Formal project management qualifications such as Prince 2
- Experience in aerospace, defence or similar industry.
- Engineering background or qualification, ideally degree.
- Experience with formal product / technology development processes (gated reviews, etc)
