The University is seeking applications for a six-month Research Officer post in the Widening Participation Research and Evaluation team. Successful applicants will work on a funded TASO (Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in HE) project that will evaluate the effectiveness of virtual summer schools through a randomised control trial. The research is being conducted by TASO in collaboration with several HE institutions to demonstrate evidence-based practice.
The position will require experience of quantitative analysis as well as qualitative methods, including questionnaire design and report writing. Knowledge of Widening Participation policy and practice is desirable. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in the Widening Participation and Outreach (WP & OR) team as well as TASO to support the research.
The WP Research and Evaluation team is located within Market Insight and Data situated in Strategic Planning. The team hold responsibility for the strategic evaluation of Access, Success and Progression activities across the university to ensure delivery against the University’s Access and Participation Plan. The Research Officer will report to the WP Research and Evaluation Manager.
