The company is a small manufacturing enterprise employing circa 25 staff across Design, Production, Project Management, Quality, Logistics, and Finance. The company design and manufacture bespoke and purpose-built products/solutions with a strong focus on reliability and durability. Although we are a relatively small company we have various major contracts with organisations such as BAE, Cobham, MoD, Babcock, Thales, Leonardo et al.
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the overall engineering function is run effectively and efficiently. You will take overall responsibility for engineering activities and resources which will need to be organised and monitored to ensure that the Business meets both its strategic and operational objectives.
The Engineering Manager will ensure that the Engineering Team deliver support through the provision of engineering related information, reports and/or data necessary to meet requirements in a timely and professional manner and that designs are fit for purpose whilst complying with all relevant national & international industry standards. Responsibilities will also include tracking of performance against specified targets and objectives that are aligned with the company’s plans.
The Successful Candidate
The candidate must have a proven record of effectively and successfully leading multi-disciplined engineering teams ideally within the Aerospace & Naval industries (not essential but very desirable).
Experience in electrical, electronic and mechanical design disciplines is essential.
The candidate must have excellent leadership & management skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively organise and plan the departments workloads and schedules.
