We are pleased to be able to offer the exciting opportunity for a permanent Case Worker for Appointeeship & Deputyship Team (ADT) within Adult Social Care Financial Services.
You will be responsible for case managing financial affairs for vulnerable clients who receive care and support from ESCC. This will include, but not be restricted to: making applications to the Court of Protection (CoP), calculating and applying for state benefits, making best interest decisions, budgeting, analysing and assessing financial and property matters, including debt, and liaising with clients, their families, and professionals. You will deal with general queries via post, email, and telephone calls.
You will need to work with your team members and professionals from other Adult Social Care (ASC) teams and external organisations, to make sure clients are receiving the best service.
This is a fast paced and developing service with high standards and aspirations to deliver a gold standard service to our customers.
You will be joining a small and supportive team who are passionate about the service they deliver.
We support people who are particularly vulnerable due to their care and support needs, so you need to be empathetic.
Due to the nature of the role, and the current home working arrangements, it is important that you are organised, self-motivated, pro-active, and collaborative.
You will need knowledge of working with computers including Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office. You will work on several bespoke database systems for which you will receive full training and ongoing support.
You will also have 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths with grades C and above.
If you are successful you will benefit from ESCC’s excellent standards of support and supervision.
COVID-19 update: Please note that East Sussex County Council is currently following Government’s advice on enabling staff to work from home if it is safe and practical to do so. Therefore, this role will be delivered remotely in an Agile way to begin with until the Council makes any changes to these working arrangements.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
