We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2021 and beyond, we are currently seeking an IT Network SecuritySpecialist to join HSBC Technology.
IT Network Security specialist who will be working as part of the Edge Perimeter Security team with CES. This resource will be responsible to deliver layer 7 WAF protections across our critical web services. This will be delivered utilizing Akamai Kona and Bot Manager Services. In addition, this resource should be familiar with network layer 3 / 4 protections, both in the cloud and on-premise, IPv6, and routing and switching. Good team collaboration and use of communication tools is expected (Email, IM, video/audio calls, Conferencing via Zoom).
The team is adopting an agile working approach with regular stand-ups and task management. Individuals are expected to be self-sufficient and would be empowered to do so but also work as part of a team.
What you will be doing;
Consult with Cybersecurity and application teams to deliver WAF protections for our critical applications.
Deliver on premise configuration across our F5, DNS, and routing and switching environments.
Work with vendor Akamai to deliver WAF/BOT protections
Continous development, implementation of control enhancements
Troubleshooting and vendor management in case of error in the environment and functionality
Create documentation for the team which is helpful to do the job
Ensure Service Delivery Targets are met for services
Work on incident & problem management, permanent issue fix and production support
Develop automation capabilites to reduce infrastructure complexity and manual effort
Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders and IT teams
Review of attack mitigations and improvements
Planning, conception and implementation in case of maintenance activities
Analyse, support and advise in business
What you will bring to the role;
To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills

Knowledge and awareness with Security aspects, attacks and mitigations, compliance, vulnerability
Experience working within large-scale enterprise IT environment

Nice To Have
Experience working with automation tools such as ansible, puppet, jenkin, CI/CD
Experience working with DevOps tools e.g. GitHub, Jira, Confluence
Good understanding on external Cloud Provider (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
Strong technical background preferred and/or experience to equivalent level
Quality awareness and a strong understanding of services
This role will primarily be Sheffield based but some travel may be required.
