Working from our Lewes office / manufacturing facility, the Production Operations Manager candidate will have proven management experience in the manufacture of engineered timber products and components: finger jointing, CNC, engineered wood, moulding, laminating, stair components, window and door components, decking, cladding, glulam beams, bespoke.
Our target customers are builder’s merchants, DIY outlets, garden centres, joinery companies and bespoke design companies. If you have good business relationships in these sectors, we want to hear from you.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the customer journey from order to delivery. Responsibility for all production processes across the site, with a view to progressing to Director level.
The Production Operations Manager Role:
Reporting to the Operations Director you will be expected to:
Develop short, mid, and long terms strategies to deliver future capacity.
Manage employees, ensuring that they are working in accordance to the production plan, company policies and procedures.
Lead and develop the production teams, reviewing structures, capabilities, and succession planning.
Streamline all processes to reduce waste and increase efficiencies.
Lead new manufacturing initiatives, applying good manufacturing principles, organisation structure, leadership, sourcing and integration, production systems and techniques for improved efficiencies.
Implement and manage strong stock control procedures.
Monitor production output ensuring teams are on target to achieve forecasted volumes.
Ensure maintenance of equipment ensuring the team has maintained and safe equipment.
Manage and lead by example of the implementation of the Health and Safety Management System ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
Champion continuous improvement on production processes.
To maintain good housekeeping standards across the department including the correct disposal of waste.
Setting KPI’s and Monitoring and maintaining the quality of the products.
Monitor Health & Safety on the Factory floor.
Oversee all aspects of Factory Production Operatives on a day-to-day basis.
Able to convey facts and ideas clearly, accurately, effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing
Able to communicate effectively at all levels
Able to build effective team relationships, ensuring that team members are committed to departmental objectives
Strong Leadership skills, leads by example and demonstrates leadership on a day-to-day basis
Ability to handle multiple issues under pressure, planning and prioritising clearly and demonstrating
Day to day Management in all aspects of production on factory floor environment.
Setting KPI’s and Monitoring and maintaining the quality of the products
Monitor Health & Safety on the Factory floor
Oversee preventative maintenance
Must have a working knowledge of Production Systems and Processes
