JOB TITLE: Finance Assistant - 9-12 months

SALARY: £22,000 per annum

REPORTING: Head of Finance

A La Carte Healthcare Limited, IMG Europe Limited, and Global Response Limited are wholly owned by International Medical Group, Inc. based in Indianapolis, USA. IMG - Global Response provides medical assistance and claims handling services to travel insurance policy holders and corporate clients across the globe. Our UK-based operations centre provides round the clock medical assistance to policy holders who suffer injury or illness while travelling overseas, and our dedicated claims team handles a huge range of travel claims from lost luggage to pet care.

Within the UK we employ over 100 staff across 3 sites, in Steyning (West Sussex), Redhill (Surrey) and Cardiff (South Wales).

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to work alongside the existing finance team in our Steyning office on a 9–12-month fixed term contract. Reporting to our Head of Finance, candidates must have a flexible approach and be prepared to take on additional duties as required.

Your skills to success. Are you…

  • Educated to at least A level (Maths and English) or equivalent
  • Enthusiastic, with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Computer literate and particularly competent with MS Excel (sort, filter, copy/paste, formatting, basic formulas); Word and Outlook.
  • Keen to learn new skills and quick to adapt

Do you have…

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills (both written and spoken)
  • Experience of working in an insurance or compliance environment (desirable but not essential)
  • An exceptional level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience of multi-currency
  • Excellent numeracy skills

What does the job involve?

  • Credit control for individual and corporate clients
  • Reconciling multi-currency premium bank accounts
  • Setting up and maintaining SEPA direct debit collections
  • Processing credit card payments
  • Corporate client invoicing
  • Reconciling corporate client’s statement of account
  • Processing refunds
  • Dealing with payment queries by email and telephone and managing mailbox
  • Supporting other finance functions when required, including:
    • Preparation and distribution of broker commission statements
    • General finance administrative duties
    • Ad hoc duties as determined from time to time
