Job summary
The Red Hat HR (People) team is looking for a Senior HR Manager to join us in Farnborough, U.K. In this role, you will manage the HR agenda for your assigned territory, translate business and organizational needs into annual regional HR country plans, and lead their implementation. You will serve as an integral part of the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) People team to provide overall input to Red Hat's purpose, values, and business objectives, while being the catalyst of our unique corporate culture. You will have an opportunity to build the regional HR strategy and roadmap for the U.K. while contributing to and shaping the EMEA and global People team agendas. You'll serve as the point of contact for associates and business leaders for HR activities for the U.K. As a Senior HR Manager, and as a part of our international People team, you'll provide internal advisory and guidance on a broad range of HR topics around the employee life cycle like performance management, compensation and benefits, employment relations, local employee communications, and personal development. You will be partnered with and expected to partner with an EMEA team of People Representatives, and other HR functions like Talent Acquisition Partners, Training and Development Specialists, HR Business Partners, and Shared Services Resources who will assist you in developing your HR strategy and actions.
Primary job responsibilities
- Provide internal advice on a broad range of HR issues and manage the entire talent life cycle, including performance management, compensation and benefits, employment relations, local employee communications, and personal development in order to support managers in your assigned region and improve associate, departmental, and business performance
- Align your work with the priorities of the talent strategy set by the EMEA or regional management; cooperate with our global Centers of Excellence (CoE) in our headquarters in Raleigh, U.S.
- Contribute to the development of the overall HR function by sharing best practices, ensuring knowledge transfer, and contributing to or leading the EMEA HR projects
- Together with business leaders actively formulate, develop, implement, and maintain results on key organizational issues for the designated region included but not limited to organisational design, process improvement, change management, leadership development, strategic staffing, succession planning, retention, and compliance
- Guide behavior and initiatives that affect organizational design to support Red Hat's unique company culture as well as to promote a fair and equal work environment
Required skills
- Experience taking progressively increasing responsibility in the HR field in the U.K. and EMEA region, preferably working in an international, dynamic, and fast-changing work environment
- Ability to establish and structure HR processes and workflows while feeling comfortable operating in the absence of those
- High level of HR consulting capabilities and ability to influence leadership
- Strategic and practical approach to work
- Creative thinking skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work successfully in a matrixed environment
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills including persuasion, coaching, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledgeable about key HR areas like organisational design, compensation and benefits, organizational development, and performance management
- Solid business acumen
- Team-focused with the ability to serve as an ambassador of the work-as-one-team approach
- Ability to implement and deliver results on your own
